The price of a life

What value one life?
What matter whose life?

They know the price of a life in Bani Walid.
In the squalid, fetid torture camps
Where evil stamps its mark in skin.
They know the price
is
Everything.

Every thing a mother can beg or borrow or barter or sell;
Everything they own as well;
Every shred of dignity;
Every hope;
Humanity.

Everything to save her son
Who’s forced to ring
Blood dripping,
Shaking,
Breaking,
Begging only for the pain to end.

And she will send

Everything
To save her son.

Their price is high.

Our value?
None.

      Congratulations on surviving another year! I have very much enjoyed reading your new uploads.
      I know you get very much less chance to read than you would like because of how busy life is, but may I recommend Doro (Unbound books) if you get a chance πŸ™‚
