Could 2020 get more sinister?
Michael Gove: a slithy minister:
Deepening darkness, spreading confusion
No substance inside, all is illusion.
Gove is like Pinkie, and Cummings: the Brain
Running a cunning despotic campaign.

Twisting the truth, they are selling us lies;
Repackaging stupid and calling it wise.
They’re rebranding wrongs, pretending they’re rights;
Stirring division, provoking our fights.

Connected to money, they’re hungry for power
Seeking advantage from our darkest hour;
Feeding on fear, they use their connections
Spreading deep discord as though they’re infections.

They sit at the centre of webs of intrigue:
So many dark forces all working in league,
Controlling the tales we’re told on the news,
They subtly alter our inner-most views.

I fear you’ll think me quite wild, extreme.
Is it a crazy mad fever-fuelled dream?

Cambridge Analytica; voter suppression;
Funding for think tanks; stoking aggression:
Evidence there is supporting this claim;
Evidence showing us who is to blame.
When challenged, they lie, and then lie some more;
We’re soon bamboozled, much worse than before.

How can we hold Number Ten to account?
When is the cost paid too high an amount?

Lord, lend me your strength to know my own mind.
