Talk about Boris

We don’t see how we’re being fleeced
How thoroughly the wheels are greased
By equity that they’ve released
From us, by stealth.

In the UK, we talk about Boris;
The things that he did, all day, every day:
The mad things that he tried to do,
Every day brings something new,
And everybody has their view.
It’s all so entertaining!

We follow the circus that swirls around Boris,
Hang on reports of the things he might say:
The right-wing papers love him so,
The numbers who see through him grow,
But I just wish that he would go.
It’s all so incredibly draining.

And all of this time that we talk about Boris
We’re never discussing the things that we should.
We don’t do the work that we need to prepare
To fix the hole in social care,
Or recognise there’s no-one there
To staff the NHS.

We don’t prepare for changing weather
Nor work out ways to come together
Nor talk about MPs who feather
Only their own nests.

We don’t talk about rising prices
Nor call out the rich and their devices
To mire us in their many crises
While thy increase their wealth.

We don’t see how we’re being fleeced
How thoroughly the wheels are greased
By equity that they’ve released
From us, by stealth.

Maybe it’s time we just cut off Boris!
If the media let us, then I think we could.
Remove him from the conversation
Improve the health of our poor nation
End this time of foul stagnation.
Get him gone for good!
