Another year has nearly gone
And here we are at Omicron:
The gift that no-one wants to get.
Worse than another fondue set
Worse than a stocking full of coal.
And, really, it’s a clear own goal.
It didn’t have to be this way.
We gave the virus freedom day.
There’s scientists who loudly warned
New variants would soon be sporned.
Alas, we failed to vaccinate
The whole world at the same fast rate.

So let’s hope twenty twenty-two
Teaches us a thing or two.

Viruses do not play fair
But we can, if we choose to share.
